What do I do?

I spent this morning manning the Planning Institute of Australia's stand at the careers expo at Darling Harbour. At one stage, I collared two skanky long-haired 15 year olds who tried to steal our pens (the youf today, I tells ya). But I was also asked by about twenty different people, 'what do planners do'?

And I have to say, I have absolutely no idea.

I didn't tell them that, mind you. I tried to tailor my response to the audience. If it was a school kid, I said 'You remember 'Sim City'? Well it's like that' and if it was a fifty year old looking for a career change I went into some spiel about using life experience to plan for cities and their people. And if it was a skanky 15 year old, I said 'Stop trying to distract me and give me back my pen you little peckerhead'.

I think it went well!

Also, not wishing to tempt the gods or anything, but it has been unusually warm today. So much so that my dripping wet shirt I had washed the night before dried on a coathanger I was carrying on the walk from Darling Harbour to work. I say unusually warm because, for those of youse OS, it has been rain rain rain in Sydney town. My last three weeks of soccer have been RAINED OUT.

I'm off to go save the children of Uganda for $30 on Oxford Street tonight. It's easy, cheap and surprisingly First-World-Guilt free! Find out how you can do it here.

Jazushi!

Ohayo gozaimasu!

Hai!

Sorry guys, I have been very very slack re the updating of this blog. Bet y'all are sick of seeing the old posting. Well here's a newbie!

I have been on a Japanese eating extravaganza (Sis, I know you would be proud - "Eat heaps!"). The main culprit is the super cheap and super tasty sushi shop at Wynyard station that has an afternoon special of three rolls for $3.60.

On Friday night I had a date with Miss Emja at 'Jazushi!' where sushi and jazz are combined to hilarious effect. See below, I ordered Camembert Tempura with the idea that tempura was a fish, but no, what came out was indeed deep fried logs of pure camembert. Mmmmm, heart disease.

To top it all off, caught up with Cazita my lil' sis after her year of epic cavorting round the Americas at Wagamama's. Q: Konnichi wa? A: Very sick of Japanese food.

Anyways, Moron, K-rock, Tangles, Cazita and the Dokta have all inspired me with their various daring adventures to lands unknown. I'm heading off to Cambodia for a few months pre-Spain next year to do some volunteering with a local school.

Watched 'City of God' last night. It was very disturbing but beautifully shot - maybe symbolic of the lead character's career as a combat photographer. Due to the abundance of cool nicknames in the movie (goose, rocket, benny, carrot, steak, knockout Ned, lil' ke) I am gonna take on lil' bro as a permanent name change.

Hope to hear KT got back from NYC A-OK ASAP.
