By gosh it has been just super fantastic having my old little sis around gee whiz. She's a far out girl.
Our various cavortings have been reported elsewhere, so I'll save youse all the rehash. I also saw The Departed last night, and although SeƱor Tangles has already flagged it, I'm gonna rehash cos it was pretty disturbing. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time, but still disturbing. Not a date flick.
Apart from the dodgy love interest storyline, it was seamless. All the action is behind the eyes of the guys who make up lies to stay alive. It was awesome to see Leonardo in a much much darker version of his Catch Me If You Can role. He and Matt Damon make good nemeses. It all makes me wonder how the heck people write such complex stories, and how I was told once that you just write back from the ending.
But it is a looooong movie. My mate Russ and I got out of the cinema at 1am. His car was on level 5. We were locked into Level 6. After a few death defying rolls under barriers and down dark ramps, we managed to get his pride and joy outta there. For those who don't know (i.e. pretty much all of you) Russ drives one of these. It is a BEAST. But the best thing is that Russ is the opposite of the stereotypical driver of such a car. We have been known to cruise along Brighton with 'I wanna know what love is (I want you to show me)' or the Crowded House album blaring.
Anyway, my old place at Gladstone Street is living up to its reputation once again. Sounds like I got out at the right time. Just like when I pulled out of East Timor before the trouble started. And when I pulled KT out of the burning bookshop in Armidale. I think I am getting good at close shaves.
