You'll love the new, non-obese you
That's what one of my dedicated spammers told me this morning when I opened my work emails, but after this weeekend's eating fest, somehow I don't think that'll be happening. It started on Saturday at the lovely Casa Yannie - my sister's very nice house in Lilyfield. For those not in the know, middle sis is a gourmet chef/maths teacher/engineer/legend. She cooked up an absolute fesast, and even accommodated Emja at short notice - what an angel.
We watched Broken Flowers, which I think should come with a warning saying it is a hazard to your mental health. It was Terrible with a capital T.
Then on Sunday, Emja's fam had a big ol BBQ at their place with the extended family. I got whacked on the head by a hovercraft remote control. Andrew and Jamie were down from Brissie with their beautiful new bub Archie. He is absolutely massive - like 8kgs at 2 and a half months. We put him in a cot and challenged all the other babies to enter his lair for a good ol' fashioned baby rumble.
Emja got picked to be his godmother, which is cool.
Then Sunday night, I took Emja out on a surprise date to Kobe Jones on Darling Harbour. This is where the obesity really set in for me - I ate about a kilo of fired tofu in macadamia nut pesto - yum but ergh! Em looked great though!
Twas hard to waddle up Kent Street ro Sydney Observatory for the special night tour we went on. Clouds not withstanding it was a lot of fun. Asronomy is very very intemeresting.
Next weekend I head off down to Currarong for some male bonding with my uncle and cousin. Then after that it's a wilderness first aid course and uni summer course in Melbourne, and my scooter riding test for my full licence. Mucho que organisar antes de mi viaje a espaƱa.
Sorry for the break in transmission. Love youse all.
