Weekend Roundup
As foretold in the pre-weekend post, I caught up with my Dad on the weekend. When I say 'caught up', I am not referring to a hand-size amount of days-of-not-seeing-each-other but more to, like, a Warner-Brothers-cartoon-sized-piano-falling-from-great-height sized wad of catching. Ten years is a long time between drinks.
But it was good. Emja has finally met ALL of the sisters and brother, which is no mean feat given that three of the five are on continents other than Australia. AND both parents, which, if you know mine and KT's family, is no mean feat either.
We ate cow ribs on the spit in honour of the little sis in South America. It was deeelish.
On Sunday I, in some specific order:
- Braved the Premier's lock-down and went to Narrabeen Beach (this is braver than you'd think as he is, technically, my boss);
- Ate enchilada picadillo at Montezuma's;
-Played the worst game of pool I have ever played, but still managed to win one from two;
- Tried to talk over the mad Brazilians watching Sao Paolo beat Liverpool at the Ivanhoe in Manly. (The Brazilians being at the Ivanhoe and the teams not playing in the Ivanhoe but on the big screen, obviously).
- Talk to tha Sis from the You-Kay. And asked her "You 'kay"? (he he)
Will have to get back to Em's family about that 40-minute phone call on their bill.

I hope you left you Aussie flag beach towell at home. And your knuckledusters. It's a sad state of affairs.
Thanks for the CD cover posting! You can never see to many CD covers. In fact, in this digital mozaic age they are a dying breed (sniff sniff).
Good to hear that the weekend was a success. Must be quite a strange thing.
Another strange thing is the "lock down" at the beaches now. (I was just about to write "our beaches", and then thought that might be weird. How sad). I haven't headed over there yet, but that is more about my car's refusal to co-operate that a boycott per see.
Hey there,
Dad was pretty ecstatic to be able spend some time with you, it meant alot to him to start bridging the gap... a good start, I think.
And, I'm also always excited to see you and the beautiful Em!
xXxXx
Until a couple of months ago I lived 2 blocks from Maroubra Beach... it's frickin wierd seeing all that shit!
also: I know close to zero about the family biz, but it sounds like things are movin on up, as the M-People would have wanted, and you all have my warmest encouragement.
as a montezumas ex-pat i think that you were wasting your time on the picadillo enchilada, stick to chicken and sour cream and sometimes venture to the chorzio if your stomach can handle it. number 24 is a great dish and similarily 30.
but hey maybe i just miss work, it was the only place i could let out some charm in sydney
Doctor, Tangles and Esquire: My evac plan if any trouble arises on the beach is to, wait for it, leave. I reckon the troubles brew cause people stick around and get their noses involved. Anyways, it's all blown over now it seems. So bad luck you northern hemisphere fools, we is living it up on the beaches this summer!
Esquire and Mid-Sis: Thanks for the nice words.
Cazrock: I stuck to the echilada picadillo because the time before that I had that weird ass thing that is the last item on the menu: half a chicken in a brown sauce on rice with a coconut encrusted warm banana and a pineapple. *shudder*
